LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Friday is a First Alert Weather Day as another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. With thunderstorm chances remaining in the forecast, be prepared for bursts of heavy rain, lightning, and strong wind gusts throughout the day.

The increased cloud cover and rain will allow highs to stay in the upper 90s. The normal high this time of year is 105°.

By Saturday, drier air begins to filter in, which will help limit storm activity across the area. Still, a slight chance of showers and storms remains in the forecast for the first half of the weekend. Breezy conditions are also expected to continue, particularly later in the day on Saturday. Temperatures will return back up into the triple-digits, with a forecast high of 102° in Las Vegas Saturday afternoon.

By Sunday and into the early part of next week, dry conditions take hold as the moisture moves out. Daytime highs will hold steady near 102° —slightly below the seasonal norm.
